Christmas tree ornaments – small works of art are entirely hand-made in accordance with a long tradition.
The production process begins with thermal treatment of the glass. Glass tubes, which are the basic material for the production of ornaments, are heated in the flame of burners at a temperature exceeding 900°C. Once the glass has reached the right temperature, it becomes malleable, allowing its shape to fit the mould into which it is inserted and then blown. This is how moulded ornaments are made - figurines, shapes representing animals, hearts, cars, robots, angels and, above all, Santa Claus. Another type of hand-blown ornaments are classic spherical ornaments in various sizes.
The next stage is glass metallization. In other words, covering glass with a thin layer of silver, so that the surface of the glass has a mirror-like coating, thanks to which the paints applied at a later stage are more vivid and shiny.
Varnishing is the application of various types of paints on the surface of glass by immersion or spraying. In this way the Christmas tree ornament usually obtains a uniform base color or a tonal effect creating a unique background for further decorative works.
The decorating technique consists in the skill of applying paints, brocades, sequins, beads and other materials to the surface of the ornament by hand. The decorating activity is mainly based on a faithful reproduction of the design while maintaining proportions, colors, as well as exceptional quality and aesthetics of the product.
Packing is the last stage of the manufacturing process of glass Christmas tree decorations. Ready ornament undergoes the last quality control, then it is cut off. A metal tag is placed on the cut surface, and finally the ornament is packed in a specially designed and prepared box.
